H Cain Hartley-Cain was born in Mansfield Road Aston Birmingham
His first ambition was to be a cyclist and compete in The Tour De France
'H' won many of the track races he entered at Salford park Erdington
His other passion was listening to George Formby because of this his parents brought him a ukulele
Then on his 14th birthday he purchased an acoustic guitar from a junk shop the cost £5.00
it was then he heard a song called "Picture of you" by Joe Brown that was to change his direction.
Banished to the shed in the garden the only place for him to practice he learnt the song.
And that was where he stayed for the next year leaving the shed only to eat and sleep much to the dismay of his parents who thought he should be more interested in learning a trade to secure his future At the age of 15 "H" joined Alan & Jim Phillips and drummer Len Ablethorpe in a Band called The Prospectors who was manage by Big Jim Phillips (father of Alan & Jim) and also The foreman at Regwells factory Six ways Aston where H's Mother worked
This Band was not to stay together long as Big Jim didn't take to the young lanky ginger haired Drummer Len and the Band was disbanded !

Orignal Frog Band. Raymond Froggatt, H Cain, Len Ablethorpe, Lou Clark . H and Len went onto form another Band called The Buccaneers with a Lou Clark a friend who lived in Bridgenorth,Shropshire.(Lou went onto join ELO ) and Danny Williams from Aston.This Band stayed together for 2 years untill meeting with Raymond Froggatt and becoming the Monopoly for a couple of years then changing to The Raymond Froggatt Band
